Sad Day

Sad day here on DWF. Carey's husband Ken was found dead yesterday, we do not know the cause as of yet.

Our prayers and best wishes go out to Carey and her son Brandon in this time of sadness in the hope they will find a way through this unfortunate event, and know that we all care.

Carey would want us to carry on.

Den, it was very thoughtful of you to put up this post. Thank you.

Peace and love to Carey and Brandon and their extended family.

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control notified Michael Moore in a letter dated May 2 that it was conducting a civil investigation for possible violations of the U.S. trade embargo restricting travel to Cuba. A copy of the letter was obtained Tuesday by the AP.

Hello! Oh, dear! Is this but one more example of the strong arm of industry improperly influencing public health policy? Merck's murky claims!

According to an article in the Los Angeles Times today --

New data on the controversial HPV vaccine designed to prevent cervical cancer have raised serious questions about its efficacy, researchers are to report today, undercutting the efforts in many states to make vaccination mandatory....

...the data also hinted that blocking the targeted strains may have opened an ecological niche that allows the flourishing of HPV strains previously considered to be minor players, partially offsetting the vaccine's protection.

The 11 "moderate" Repugs are just covering their asses.

What a sorry joke.

C-Span is carrying the Gonzo hearings again on XM, I listened for a while but had to turn it off after Dan(Azzole)Lundgren, gave his little suck up questions, PUKE!

If I hear that super-azzole Gonzo speak one more time, I will PUKE!

Fascist bastards covering fellow fascists azzes.

I do not have the stomach for their crooked shenanigans any more.

I've got 3 things to point out. 1)Gov Perry didn't veto the ban on Gardisil and let it become law, which will be reviewed again in 4 years. 2)An article in today's H-town Chronicle reports those same viruses that cause cervical cancer in women, cause throat cancer in women AND men from oral sex (link below) and 3)The NYT's article in our paper smooths over the "11 moderate repugs meeting with bush" without mentioning the "no credibility" comment, making the meeting sound rather tame.

Luis Posada Coreles is a KNOWN TERRORIST responsible for blowing up a Cuban airliner and is a supposed employee of the CIA.

Conyers questioning Gonzo about him has yielded no results regarding enforcement of the Patriot Act provisions, declaring him a terrorist by their OWN standards!

Effin jerk!!

Democracy Now has extensive info on that KNOWN terrorist.

Den, I just read a day or so ago, that the USA in El Paso dropped all charges against Luis Posada Coreles. I believe he's out of jail too.

Fkn C-Span 3 online is a joke. Maybe too many people are logged-in for their bandwidth, cause I can't hardly get two complete sentences in a row before it cuts out. I listened for a while, then gave up.

DEN said...

Oh yea he is!

By the standards given in the Almighty Patriot Act he is a known terrorist, but because he is CIA shill he goes free.

Cuba and Venezuela want his azz, bad!

Alan said...

My bad... the USA didn't drop the charges... the judge threw them out.

Judge drops charges against Posada

A federal judge issued a stunning decision Tuesday when she dismissed the immigration fraud charges against Luis Posada Carriles, the Cuban exile militant who was facing trial starting Friday in El Paso, Texas.

C&L has a great vid with Maxine Waters grilling gonzo.

I forced myself to listen to more hearing. You will not find a finer bunch of fascist supporting lapdogs in the whole nation than you will find on that committee in repug suits.

Poor gonzo, soooooo picked on!

Some Dems ripped him good but his elongated(on purpose) answers used up precious time. A

Add that to the coddling from the repugs and you have the SSDD syndrome working well.

Do those repuugs figure they can get re-elected with their poor gonzo routine?

Here is a prayer for Carey and her son, Brandon.

I said a prayer

I said a prayer for you today and I know God must have heard
I felt the answer in my heart, although He spoke no word!
I did not ask for wealth or fame I knew you would not mind
I asked Him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He would be near you at the start of each new day to
Grant you health and blessings and friends to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small
But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all!

I have to say, while it's sometimes interesting to comment and share and even rant on these blogs, at the end of the day nothing much will be changed by this activity. We might make a few friends (or enemies) in the process, we might let off some steam, but we are not going to change a damned thing.

Take this current charade where bush is pretending he will negotiate with the Dems on Iraq -- that lie is an evil, empty, deceptive pretense and bush has no intention of "negotiating."

What bush does intend to do is create an artificial timetable and wait out the clock . Unfortunately, when September rolls around, and the "surge" did not work, bush will say we have to stay the course because we have a "new plan" and he'll say in so many words "oh, BTW, it's General Patraeus's fault that the surge didn't work. I'm happy to announce that we have this new, improved toady general who will...blah blah blah."

All of bush's bright ideas are failures. But he's still the f**king president, still f**king things up big time.

And bush will continue to get away with it, because the Repugs and the Chris Matthews-types will never eat their words. They have been bush's cheerleaders for too many years -- do you think they'd EVER playback the words on the air of the Dems predicting failure in Iraq? No f**king way!

So, our only hope is making sure that Karl Rove doesn't succeed with his on-going voter suppression program.

The only way this can stop is at the ballot box in November 2008. January 20, 2009 is a looooooong way off.

You'd better pay more attention to what's going on in your precincts and your state regarding voter protection and fair elections!!!!
