AFL-CIO Prez Forum

Anyone with a heart could relate to this man and his plight here.

The rest of the coverage can be found @ MSNBC's site.

Quite the little shindig indeed, there was plenty of hollering to the union audience by the candidates, I'll let MSNBC do the 'splainin.

Worthless paper or global extortion?

Two officials at leading Communist Party bodies have given interviews in recent days warning - for the first time - that Beijing may use its $1.33 trillion (£658bn) of foreign reserves as a political weapon to counter pressure from the US Congress.

Shifts in Chinese policy are often announced through key think tanks and academies.

Described as China's "nuclear option" in the state media, such action could trigger a dollar crash at a time when the US currency is already breaking down through historic support levels.

It would also cause a spike in US bond yields, hammering the US housing market and perhaps tipping the economy into recession. It is estimated that China holds over $900bn in a mix of US bonds.

Xia Bin, finance chief at the Development Research Centre (which has cabinet rank), kicked off what now appears to be government policy with a comment last week that Beijing's foreign reserves should be used as a "bargaining chip" in talks with the US.

@ The Telegraph

Go out and be good little consumers and give China more of you hard earned money so they can build weapons and threaten us with financial annihilation.

Nice huh?

All in all, I thought the forum went well. Kucinich was the one that absolutely radiated light. He owned that stage and wowed 'em.

Edwards did well this time, finally. Clinton was clever and she's so damn good at this stuff. It was a substantive discussion, not enough of course, but it held it's own.

Now about China! Folks, the Chinese government sucks, doesn't it? Period.

After the tainted petfood and lead-infiltrated paint on the best brands of children's toys.....the symptoms of cancerous captitalism abound.

Beyond their economy, the horrific "TIANAMEN* SQUARE"! I cannot forget what they did. Who can? Now I discover the Olympics will be centralized out of Tianamen. They will hold their showy celebrations there for the 2008 Olympics. Oh my God!!!!!!!!! I almost fainted when I heard that this morning on the tube. I mean really. Oh my God!

China was a topic last night at the forum. It should be, shouldn't it? What are we going to do about the crap happening? All of our consumer products are tainted and fatal.

I finally got into the archives. From Monday, I loved the limerick Micki.

When I wrote of the innocence in sports, I meant the sweetness of the actual game itself. It's such a perfect game, baseball.

Everything innocent has been corrupted by the cancer. Barry Bonds, a bittersweet story of a truly great athlete who felt compelled by the pressures of big business to harm himself and the sport.

That's capitalism. As Thom Hartmann and many others before him says, it's inevitably cancerous and kills it's host-the people.

Bonds breaking the homerun record is so significant in baseball history. It's huge.

It's bittersweet and sad too. Man, capitalism sucks.

While Americans busy themselves with shopping for shit and home run records, the Chinese have been busy giving new definitions to American idioms.

Think about it:

Get the lead out -- and we think, hurry up; the Chinese put the lead in and now we are yelling at them "to get the lead out" of our children's toys. Chinese say, "Get a life! We are now in charge!" We say, no, no, no -- we are stronger and better than you are! The Chinese retaliate, "Get the picture? We got your goat now! You silly Americans think "we got the goods on you" means finding out incriminating information on someone -- well, our slave wagers make lots of junk and send it to you and you buy it like idiots, so we got the goods on you! Lots of goods dumped on you! We are raffing and raffing because we got in on the act and now your almighty dollar is not so mighty. You tell your school kids get a load off your mind and don't teach them important stuff. We tell our kids get the drift and teach them science and math and money matters.

You think putting on the dog means doing something real special for someone. We got news for you! We put on the dog and send it by the boatload to your supermarket shelves and even call it organic. We put you on and your FDA say to American sheeple put that in your pipe and smoke it! Take that! Your FDA is very big joke.

You Americans never learn you can't win them all. You should really get real. But you cannot get real because you think reality is a TV show.

Someday you may get a bang out of us yet! Then you will be all shook up!

Carey -- thanks about the limerick.

That is an admirable thought!

“War is not inevitable I don’t think we can believe in God and be pessimistic about the future. The world is in God’s hands. So we have to keep going, keep on working for the abolition of war.” So said Bruce Kent, Britain’s long-time peace advocate and leader of the “Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.”

Bruce Kent is correct and we must keep trying to have a worldly Shalom. The Nazis in America cannot defeat God but in Nazi America evil forces are winning each and every battle. Yet, in the end the war will be won by God and His Final Judgment.

If you saw and heard the video on Nazi American use of DU, you will have to come to one conclusion that Nazi America is a very EVIL empire. We are the most EVIL empire in the universe's history. We are just totally EVIL!!!!!

I BELIEVE THAT OUR USE OF DU IS A WAR CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

Will the 164,000 American soldiers who return home develop a deadly disease from DU and will many of these soldiers impregnate a loved one have babies born deformed? This is a horrible unintended consequence for Americans. Will health insurance companies drop our soldiers from coverage because they are at a high rish of developing many health problems? This is another unintended consequence of the Iraq war.

Nazi America's EVIL ways are catching up to her!!!!!

DEN said...

Gerald, we have discusse DU many times here and at AR, and it does not get any easier to know the side effects of radioactive contamination.

If only someone would listen that could change things.

I agree the country is ignoring the obvious and due to the infiltration of fascists into the government nothing will be done.

Sad for many families that will lose fathers and mothers to this scourge.

DEN said...

And children of course.

Gerald said...

DEN, what is so frightening, I saw and heard Richard Perle say on "Why We Fight" that Americans will not change. Can you imagine that we, Americans, seem to revel in the slaughter of human beings?

I have written comment to shake people up. Some comments centered around Nazi Americans are cold-blooded murders or we are vampires who need our daily blood to live.

After listening to Richard Perle, a high ranking Nazi, my comments were right on target and exactly right.

In my 68 years on Earth I have seen the dry rot come to the skin surface of Nazi American vampires.

DEN said...

Gerald, I really do not think Americans "revel in the slaughter of human beings" but rather IGNORE the slaughter which shows gross negligence on their part.

To ignore innocents' deaths is no better however than causing the deaths yourself.

Mans inhumanity to it's fellow man earns no points with me.

So many hungry, so many sick, so many dying needlessly through neglect.

Yet they go to church on Sunday and pray for their OWN salvation.

Self absorbed and spoiled rotten.

Gerald said...

DEN, to ignore is like to remain silent regarding man's inhumanity to men. It ends up as tacit approval in the behaviors being seen before their eyes.

Gerald said...

DEN, I believe that most people who really care would love to be a change agent for the betterment of humanity. What is so very frustrating, many caring persons feel powerless against the evil forces in Washinton, D.C.
