Sunday Fools

WASHINGTON - Ralph Nader is launching a third-party campaign for president.

The consumer advocate made the announcement Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." He says most Americans are disenchanted with the Democratic and Republican parties, and that none of the presidential contenders are addressing ways to stem corporate crime and Pentagon waste and promote labor rights.

Nader also ran as a third-party candidate in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. He is still loathed by many Democrats who call him a spoiler and claim his candidacy in 2000 cost the party the election by siphoning votes away from Al Gore in a razor-thin contest in Florida.

Do we really want to read about this???

Question marks with arrows pointing Reich, sums up Ralphies bid for the WH against all common sense and logic. Why and helping the reich fend off those evil Liberals who are trying to allow terrists to come in and blow us up!

Ralphie of Christmas story fame who coulda shot his eye out? Nope just looks like he did. Ralphie who raged about the evils of Corvairs rather than the people that manufactured them, always chasing the wrong cause at the wrong time and screwing everything up in the process, like the Energizer Bunny he keeps going and going.

Sorry Ralphie, you are too late for the party(Green?) and too late to beat those boys that beat you up the last time you crawled out from under that rock.

Please exit the building in an orderly manner, thanks but no thanks.

Hajji, simple explanation, the politicals can be thought of as barnyard residents contributing their share of manure to the yard, by mere metaphor it can be seen and smelled plainly which ones really pump it out.

Right now Ralphie the pig is in the lead.

Hi, I can only stay for a second. I get nauseous while at the computer plus a headache. I'll be better after the second eye is done on Wednesday. Is it an 'imbalance' or an 'unbalanced' vision? It's unbalanced, still an imbalance sounds good too. That's been bugging me.

Okay car guy. Afterall, your email address announces to all how you feel about corvairs, an engineering marvel. Ken felt similarly, he was a big car guy as you know.

Do you know what? I actually found Nader refreshing. He talked of our frustrations with the 2007 Dem Congress, the rampant spinelessness. When I first heard last night Nader was probably going to announce, I got upset. But after listening to him and realizing that the Obama momemtum is not going to be stopped, I found Nader's discussion welcome.

It wasn't Nader's total fault Gore was pushed out. There were shenanigans galore as we know. Perhaps Nader can't do harm this time, only help.

Nader's talking about something quite important here. We're still in Iraq with a "successful" surge. That's where we are after one year with a Dem Congress. We can't even stop Bush from getting immunity for AT&T!

Headachey and nauseous now, better sign off.

Okay guys, my sister has set me straight on Nader. Scratch my whole post mostly. Nader, bad.

I had a cup of coffee this a.m. and was feeling a littly utopic as I have good vision in one eye and it's neat, I'm just unbalanced.

Why doesn't Nader run for Congress if he's so upset about the spinelessness of Congress? Why does it have to be president?

Cuz, my sister Winke says, he's afraid he'll lose if he runs for Congress.

She's right.

carey said...

Winke has ridden in a car with Nader. Her impression, "he's one cold fish."

He's ice, pure ice, she says. It's ideas he loves, not people. Couldn't care a lick about actual people, a cold Calivinist type.

She's mad at Nader and set me straight.

KRISTOL: [Obama’s] riding a wave of euphoria. She [Clinton] needs to puncture it. The way you puncture euphoria is reality, or to be more blunt, fear. I recommend to Senator Clinton the politics of fear.

Will someone please shoot this guy and bury him somewhere in the desert outside Las Vegas with the rest of the snakes and scorpions.

DEN said...

Carey, Winke is very wise.

Another last hurrah.

He was less successful than the car he derided, Corvairs have been running successfully since 1960, Ralphie? well he runs 'bout every 8.

DEN said...

Better rephrase my earlier comment.

No shoot kristol, bad, stake him out in the sun instead and let the snakes and scorpions have him.

But they would think he was one of them.......thinking.........I got it!

The Guillotine!

Naw, too French...........thinking......

Hillary Clinton Mocks Barack Obama During Campaign Rally

Hillary Clinton's campaign is on its last legs after suffering a string of defeats to her rival Barack Obama. Clinton made the decision to go negative in an effort to halt Obama's rising momentum.

Today, Clinton was at a campaign rally in Providence, Rhode Island, and she mocked Obama and his message of hope and change in a very theatrical, over-the-top manner.

Such a proud moment... I think she IS starting to look "presidential"...

Yeah, president of Frickin' Asylum!

Now I'm scared... She's got nuthing left to lose and she's got a platform to lose it from.

She MIGHT just try to take the whole party with her!

Did I say "OMFG?"

the bit about Nader being a cold fish? That's interesting because I always got the impression that he was kinda robot like. His passion is for change and honesty toward consumers. I get that but you have to have compassion not just passion. He's a very driven man but is there room for compromise? I'm not sure.

Nader has no illusions about being president. He's a fruitcake, with an ego and a message. His message can be important to the process, even now, because he might force the candidates to focus more on the issues.

So, what's so wrong with that?

Carey said...

There's nothing wrong with that. After 2000, after 2004 and all the evidence piled up that the Repug machine cheats at elections, it's frivilous, however.

We don't have time for Nader to exercise that cold ego of his. Why can't he run for Congress? Better pulpit and mechanicals to get his consumer issues some notice.

We also cannot waste one vote on Nader. Not one.

Hi Jeanne. Keep warm up there.

I can't imagine what's going on in the Hillary camp. They wouldn't be normal if they weren't going positvely nuts.
